I don't have a slow cooker either so simmered it on v low on stove for about 3 hours and it worked really well.
Chuck into slow cooker
2x 420g creamed corn
2 cups frozen corn kernels
500 chicken breast (although I think legs would be tastier)
3 tablespoons salt reduced soy sauce
1 litre reduced salt chicken stock (Campbells)
1.5 litres water
1 tablespoon reduced salt chicken stock powder (Massels)
1/2 cup chopped spring onion
Let it cook all day in slow cooker, shred chicken, stir a beaten egg through and serve.
