Crumbled on some toasted bread (sourdough is nice) with mashed avocado, drizzled with a bit of olive oil, and a bit of salt and pepper. Makes a really yummy breakfast.

Is there such thing as salt-reduced feta? I can't stand the saltiness of it.

Try goats milk cheese, like feta and more subtle imo. I like it.

Goat's milk hey .. I will have a look for that, thankyou. I do like the texture of feta (especially the softer Danish ones, not the hard Greek ones), so will see what I can find :)

I use feta in spinach pie but I really cut the amount on the recipe because of the saltiness.

I eat Dodoni Feta on it's own or like Annie suggested or as an accompaniment to my food. Love mashing is in with a roast potato or pumpkin, salads. Also nice crumpled with rice or toast. To get rid of the saltiness I rince it off. If I'm cooking it like in a spinach and feta pie I use the Danish feta. I also use it and roast capsicum to make stuffed chicken breast. So much more but it's late so can't think.

I often put feta in frittata. Gives it saltiness without adding something meaty like bacon. My fave is feta, spinach, sweet potato and capsicum frittata with sliced tomatoes and regular cheese on top. Very yum :thumb:

This is a yummy salad:

Green bean, feta & beetroot salad

Cook 400g halved green beans in boiling water for 2 minutes, or until just tender.

Drain well and transfer to a bowl.

Drain a 400g can baby beetroots, cut into quarters and add to beans.

Add 1 halved and sliced medium red onion and 300g crumbled feta.

In a small bowl, combine 1/3 cup or 80ml olive oil, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice and 2 teaspoons wholegrain mustard. Season with salt and pepper.

Pour over salad, mix, then serve.

OMFG! I made this tonight - minus the red onion which i forgot to get and wow its absolutely amazing!
