I have one, thanks to my mum's inheritance from my nan. I don't find the noise factor a nuisance because its only super noisy for a few seconds, for example if you are milling grains. I cooked a lamb curry in it for an hour the other day and its no noisier than my oven on fan force.
I love it. I'll add more if people have questions. I've had mine for a year. HM I think you asked how I make butter - it takes about 10mins all up in thermie. And I mentioned the other day I only use raw sugar now. I make my own caster and icing sugar.
It's got a 10 year warranty and if you use it to its max potential, it will pay itself back and save you money. You'd have to be strict though - things like making your own jam from bargain basement fruit.
Daily. Yesterday was pumpkin scones and butter. Today so far choc chip biccies and I think I'll make a chicken and rice dish in it tonight. I leave it on my bench. I've even used it just to make a marinade.
They are certainly exxy and they promote the fact that you don't need a food processor, mixer etc. you would only need this.
It comes down to what you eat. We do not do a lot of risottos and stews and soups, so I wouldn't get a lot of use for it for meals. I would probably use it for sorbets, dips etc but for that type of use alone, I baulk at the price! Plus it is hard to justify for me because I already have the other appliances like a food processor, a blender etc
Shell - I don't think it's worth $2000. If I had my time again I wouldn't buy it. BUT it is handy and I use it often. I'd rather keep and use it rather than sell it. But yeah not worth $2000 to me yet.
