Food processor- what do you use yours for?

Fri Aug 30, 2013 10:21 am

I have a food processor/blender combo that I've found pretty ordinary, so hardly ever use it! What kind of things do you use yours for? I just chop or manually grate things at present as mine is a pita to put together and doesn't work that well.

Chop, shred, slice, mix dough and cake mixture, make breadcrumbs, churn butter, etc.
Mine is pretty awesome, it's a Breville Kitchen Wizz Pro.

Would you use it every day? Like to chop up veges for dinner?

The blender: to make smoothies/blended drinks for the kids.

The food processor: to finely process vegetables, make breadcrumbs, make dips/pesto, make shortcrust pastry, blend up vegie scraps for the worm farm.

I definitely use it everyday to blend up the worm food. I use it every second day for cooking (depending on the mealplan. If we are eating mostly Asian meals for the week, I don't use it as much).

I don't use mine that often. I use it to make breadcrumbs, grate if I'm doing large amounts and mix cupcakes.

I've left mine out and trying to use it a bit more :) I really want your Breville Food Wizz Pro now Leesa! It does most of the things that cause me to lust after the thermomix

Sorry Megs, I just saw your question! I probably use it 2-3 times a week, more if I have a lot of baking to do. And it's amazing, by the way ;-)

I used mine today to make prawn spring rolls. I get theirs to throw in the ingredients then I allow them to turn it on. Always a thrill when it mixes everything up.

Mostly grating and finely slicing, I don't like diced veggies except onion which I don't eat.

I use it about once a week. I keep it in the cupboard.

Food processor - making breadcrumbs, dips (eg hummos), mixing pastry/pasta dough, whizzing up nuts.
