I'm interested to see if your confident with your pelvic floor excercises and know you do them properly. I just found out I have a rectocele prolapse wall in my v it's making me question the way I do my pelvic floor excercises. I'm going to see a women's health physio to make sure I'm doing it correctly.

I thought I was doing them properly until I started going to post birth exercise classes run by a physio and I wasn't along with a few others in the class. She felt my hips and gave me great tips. You will really benefit from the one on one. Good luck

When I do mine I pull up and back - so like my perenium lifts and my belly button area moves back towards my spine. Is that correct? I'm sure I remember from my last maternity classes that if your lower stomach doesnt move you're not doing it right?

NOOOOOOO! No more kegels. They have been found to do more harm than good. Squats are the *new* kegels now. Check out this website for some really good info about prolapse http://www.wholewoman.com/newpages/rectocele.html

I never really had a clue! :oops: I had to see a physio after birth #2 and she taught me how to do them properly (though it was only a few weeks after the birth so it's all a bit of a haze and I'm not sure if I remember right) :lol:

I did heaps of kegels before I had Connor and havent had any problems with my pelvic floor, even after pushing for two hours. I wont be doing squats, even if they are good for your pelvic floor, they well and truly kill my knees

I think I'm doing mine right. Last smear test (3 years ago) I had a slight uterine prolapse most likely because of N's size and how quick he came in the end. When I had my pap smear in July this year he said it was no worse...if anything it was better.

So I'm happy with that. I don't check it myself so I wouldn't know.

eta I should add when I do mine, nothing external moves at all.
