I stopped putting S in a onesie once she was walking and it was summer.

On the flip side, I hate seeing babies in separates with their tummies showing, especially in winter. I always put a short sleeve onesie on to keep their tummies covered.

Onesies babies....

I have been wondering this too!!
DD still wears onesies most of the time. She is 14 weeks old/6 weeks corrected. I think they're great for winter, don't have to worry about socks falling off.

I will be interested to hear what others say!

Onesies babies....

Mon Jul 15, 2013 6:11 pm

I had short sleeve no legs onesies under clothes through winter until they were out of nappies. Wonder suits were worn for bed until they grew out of size 2's and under clothes in winter for the first year. I think mine were out of onesies for out and about after their first winter, so about 6 months old I guess.

I get clunky at the sight of a baby in a blue wondersuit!

I never took my kids out in a onesie on its own - under other clothes, yes. I used them up to about one I think.

I think babies are adorable in onesies!

I kept J in onesies for ages. This was him at 16 mths old. The label called it a playsuit and I think it's perfect for summer. Biased - but I think he looked pretty cute in it!

I took C to things like swimming lessons in Wondersuits well past one, maybe until 18 months. Still often do with E too.

For me it was about 8 - 12 weeks as a regular thing then it was only if I couldn't be bothered getting them dressed and we were only going to the supermarket.

As PJ's - until about 15 months

Singlet onesies, until the end of their second winter (so 18'ish months old)

So I totally misinterpreted the question. I put short onesies on underneath their clothes till they were walking around. But onesies as a single item of clothing, I stopped at 3ish months except for bedtime.

I have no idea! The 2.5 year old dressed herself in a onesie the other day and she wouldn't change her mind about it being PJs!

I categorised all one pieces are onesies, including the long sleeve footed ones!

Ok strictly as a piece of clothing with snaps at the crotch with no legs, I think I stopped with J after a few mths. As you can see though, I kept J in onesies with some sort of leg on it for much longer.
